Armie Hammer was fined for a number of traffic violations shortly after his divorce from Elizabeth Chambers made headlines in July last year.
According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, the Call Me By Your Name star was pulled over after making an improper right turn as well as failing to display a rear license plate on his vehicle. Hammer, 34, pleaded guilty to the offences in August 2020.
At the time, he failed to pay the fines for the incident, so the court suspended his drivers’ license in September 2020. Three months later, Hammer paid the US$255 (approx. $328) fine in full.
The Social Network star has been at the centre of controversy amid his split from Chambers, 38, whom he was married to for 10 years before going their separate ways in July 2020. The two tied the knot in May 2010 and share son Ford Douglas Armand, four, and daughter Harper Grace, six.
“The decision to separate was not one that they made lightly,” an insider told Us Weekly at the time. “They didn’t wake up one day and suddenly decide. … Right now, their biggest concern is their children and how this change will impact them.”
“He and his ex were together since he was 20 years old so he’s just going out and meeting people but not dating anyone,” a source told People magazine at the time.
“I’m not responding to these bulls–t claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic. Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I’m grateful to them for that,” Hammer said in a statement.
The statement was in response to leaked messages alleged to have been sent by Hammer which shared graphic sexual fantasies.
