Miley Cyrus has been slammed by fans for her banter with Elon Musk ahead of their Saturday Night Live appearance on May 8.
In a series of tweets on Wednesday, April 28, the Tesla CEO and ‘Midnight Sky’ singer exchanged in friendly banter after a fan tweeted a Photoshopped image of Musk on a wrecking ball — a nod to Cyrus’ iconic 2013 music video.
“Might be something there haha,” Musk, 49, replied to the tweet.
The ‘Prisoner’ singer, 28, later chimed in, “@elonmusk I’m down if you are! #MileyAndMusk to the moon!”

But fans were not having it. One user urged Cyrus to delete her post so fans could “pretend” they “didn’t see” it, while another tweeted, “yes queen infiltrate and redistribute that wealth we love to see it.”
Meanwhile, other fans backed the singer and actress, saying that she’s only trying to promote SNL ahead of her appearance.
“She has to promote the episode with him guys…..she has no choice,” one fan tweeted.
Musk is set to host the May 8 edition of Saturday Night Live, with Cyrus as a musical guest.
Cyrus also confirmed that she will be bringing The Kid LAROI along for her SNL appearance. The pair have released a remix of his song, ‘Without You’, ahead of their performance.
“Live from New York with little bro…. @thekidlaroi @nbcsnl,” she tweeted on Wednesday alongside an image of the two together.
