Zayn Malik has been caught on camera in a tense confrontation with a man outside a New York bar after the man allegedly called out a homophobic slur.
In footage obtained by TMZ, the 28-year-old singer can be seen swearing at an unknown bargoer outside Amsterdam Billiards Club in Manhattan’s East Village.

The ‘PILLOWTALK’ singer also appeared shirtless at one stage during the altercation.
Sources that were apparently close to the situation claimed to TMZ that Malik was smoking a cigarette outside the club after two in the morning when a group of men came out of neighbouring bar, Little Sister Lounge.
According to TMZ, the man Malik is seen to be speaking to tried to pick a fight with him shortly after coming out of Little Sister Lounge.

In the footage, the man is seen lunging at a shirtless Malik who shouts “what the f–k are you talking about” multiple times at the man.
TMZ says the man shouted a homophobic slur towards Malik, who responded with insults including “b—ard.”
Other members of the group were seen trying to break up the confrontation.

TMZ claims they were told the argument was not physically violent and police were not involved.
Since leaving One Direction in 2015, the ‘LIKE I WOULD’ singer has released three solo studio albums — 2016’s Mind of Mine, 2018’s Icarus Falls and 2021’s Nobody Is Listening.
He also made a cameo as himself in Ocean’s 8.

Malik and his girlfriend, 26-year-old model Gigi Hadid, welcomed daughter Khai Hadid Malik in September 2020.
Khai is their first child.
