Last year Disney’s streaming service Disney+ announced a list of sequels and remakes of some classic films, and among the list was the sequel to the Halloween classic “Hocus Pocus.” At the time there were no details about the cast, but it has officially been announced that the Sanderson sisters are linking up once again for the film’s sequel.
According to Variety, Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler, and Kathy Najimy are all set to reprise their roles for “Hocus Pocus 2.” The film is scheduled to start production this fall and is expected to release on Disney+ in 2022.
In the second film, there will be a completely new synopsis, which will include “three young women who accidentally bring the Sanderson sisters back to modern-day Salem and must figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on the world.”

Anne Fletcher, who will be directing the sequel said, “Now more than ever, people need to laugh. We should be laughing every day, and there is so much fun to be had with these three unbelievable women playing delicious characters from such a beloved film. I am so grateful to be able to play a part in bringing these witches back to life, and to be working with my friends at Disney again makes it all the more special. This is a movie for everyone, from the fans who grew up with the first film to the next generation of viewers, and I can’t wait to get started.”
As we previously reported, the other films announced along with “Hocus Pocus 2,” were “Sister, Act 3,” and a remake of “Cheaper By The Dozen.”
