New Jersey locals may be getting their food delivery with a side of celebrity.
While most celebrities are just Netflix and chilling during the coronavirus lockdowns in the US, Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo has been employed as a food delivery runner at a restaurant on Long Beach Island.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 17-year-old New Jersey native has been working alongside family members at an eatery in the area, serving as a delivery boy.
And it was only a matter of time before Matarazzo was recognised by fans.
The actor — who has portrayed Dustin Henderson on the Netflix series since 2016 — has reportedly been wearing a hat and face mask during his shifts but has still been recognised by fans of the show.
It’s no surprise, really, given Stranger Things Season 3 has been watched by 64 million people since it premiered last year.
Being spotted by fans is no issue for Matarazzo. The actor has said in the past that he’s happy to chat to his supporters both in real life and on Instagram, where he boasts 14 million followers.
“My Instagram is really just a regular page that I made, but it’s a great feeling to know that so many people appreciate your work,” he told Teen Vogue in 2016. “I know it’s not about the followers, but it makes me feel good that people will go out of their way to follow me and message me.”
Like many productions in Hollywood, Stranger Things is currently on hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic. Filming on Season 4 had begun in February but was shut down when the virus swept the globe.
