Justice was served! That’s one of the most significant phrases everyone has heard worldwide with the news of Derek Chauvin being found guilty on all three charges in the death of George Floyd. Many people have taken to their timelines and rejoice over the news, but the young woman who recorded George’s death took to her social media accounts and let out a relief. Darnella Frazier, who was was 17 years old when she recorded the 9 minute-plus video of George’s death and uploaded it to Facebook last May, spoke out and thanked God for the verdict.

Darnella, who is 18 years old now, wrote on her Facebook page, “I just cried so hard. This last hour my heart was beating so fast. I was so anxious, anxiety bussing through the roof. But to know GUILTY ON ALL 3 CHARGES !!! THANK YOU, GOD. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.THANK YOU. George Floyd, we did it!! Justice has been served.”

If you recall, during the trial, Darnella took the stand and testified that she regretted not physically engaging with the four officers at the scene during the incident with George Floyd that resulted in his death. Celebrities and activists commented on the post and thanked Darnella for her brave action that helped give George justice. Shaun King commented, “Could not have happened without you, Darnella. Thank you.” Actress Tichina Arnold also left a comment saying, “God bless you. Praying for your strength from here on. Thank you.”
